Thank you for visiting our website. My name is John Appleton and I am the pastor of Kanawha Salines Presbyterian Church here in Malden, West Virginia. Our church has a rich 192 year history in the Kanawha Valley and we are located about seven miles east of Charleston.

We are a church that believes that the creator God has revealed Himself in Holy Scripture which we believe is without error, infallible, and sufficient to instruct us in all manners of faith and conduct.

From the church organized by Rev. Henry Ruffner on March 14, 1819, called Kanawha Presbyterian Church at Kanawha Salines (Malden) and Charleston, came the Kanawha Salines Presbyterian Church. The two congregations, having common interest, under one organization and pastor, held alternate services until 1841 when it was thought expedient for the Malden people to have an organization of their own.
