Pastor (Teaching Elder): Alex Ford
Alex moved to West Virginia to serve as pastor of Kanawha Salines Presbyterian in 2015. He earned his undergraduate in English from College of Charleston (the other Charleston, in South Carolina) in 2003, and later an M.Div. from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis in 2010. While in St. Louis, he met Holly, and they were married in 2008. They delight in their two children, Ivy and George (who is generally much happier than in this picture).
Alex loves to talk about Reformed University Fellowship (the college campus ministry of the PCA), Cardinals baseball, theology, or the latest nerdy movie to be released. Fair warning, though, he can (and will) talk your ear off about Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings series!
Danny Proctor grew up on Dutch Ridge just outside Quick, WV. He attended a one-room school until entering sixth grade, and graduated from Herbert Hoover High. He lived in North Carolina briefly, but realized his love for West Virginia and her mountains was too strong, so he came home and has been here ever since. He and his family joined Kanawha Salines Presbyterian in 1982; he has served as a Deacon and now an Elder, along the way directing the choir and helping with VBS.
Danny met his wife, Cathy, while working at the Diamond Department Store, and they were married in 1983. God blessed them with their only child (Chris) in 1990. Danny has competed in many 10Ks and one marathon, and he and Chris are now entering races as a father/son duo! Danny was taught to use his hands, and there is little he cannot do. His calling, though, is to mentor special needs children. Even though he retired three years ago, Danny still accepts substitute positions as a special needs aide. His Lord, his family, and being able to help people are the things that keep Danny smiling.
